Students in 4th-8th grade shared their writing inspired by the following suggestions:
- Narrative: Write a story, real or imagined, showcasing someone standing up for diversity and inclusion
- Persuasive: How does Columbia stand up for diversity and inclusion and in what ways does our community still have work to do to better stand up for these issues?
- Expository: Research and describe an individual, organization, or event in our community that is a good example of standing up for diversity and inclusion
- Creative: Using a genre of your choice create an original piece of literature that celebrates diversity or calls for readers to stand up for diversity and inclusion
